Like any good origin story, Elevaso Tequila came into existence because of Ross' passion and will to create something unique. For the last 20 years, Ross has been an avid tequila drinker - he was "TEQurious" - always trying new tequilas. As the years went on, it became more and more difficult to find Ross tequila he hadn’t already tried.
One day in the summer of 2017 while sipping on an Extra Añejo in his backyard, Ross got an unexpected call. It was from an owner of an established tequila brand … one that Ross thoroughly enjoyed and drank regularly.
That call opened up doors Ross didn’t even know existed. What if he could take his TEQurious habit to the next level and actually create his own tequila? What if he could create his own flavor profiles that his friends and family could enjoy?
At that moment, Elevaso was born; A combination of the Spanish words Elevar (To Raise) and Vaso (Your Glass).
Soon after, Ross was on his way to Mexico to connect with Master Distiller Mauricio Amigon. Mauricio educated Ross how different flavor profiles could be achieved through barrel aging, filtering, and oxygenation without the need for additives to add flavor or color.
Ultimately, Mauricio presented Ross with Elevaso Extra Añejo Tequila, the flagship product in the Elevaso line. Since its introduction, Ross has worked closely with Mauricio to create Elevaso Blanco and Elevaso Reposado tequilas.
