Two reasons, really:
1) We age our blanco tequila for 5 years in French Oak and American Oak barrels creating flavors of Vanilla, Caramel, and Butterscotch.
2) We then finish our tequila in newly charred barrels creating a smokey finish.
Bottom line, the exceptional flavor of Elevaso "Doble Madera" Extra Anejo comes from the natural flavors from barrel aging. We do not use additives like other brands to achieve color or flavor.
